KaMya Tackett is a junior at Sylvan Hills High School. She holds the title of Miss Diamond State High School America 2024. With this title, she was tasked with promoting a community service initiative. She created “Mental Garden: Growing Positive Mindsets For Our Youth” and included CHES in the new service project!!! KaMya firmly believes that small acts of kindness can go a long way in fostering a supportive environment for our students, especially during challenging times.
The Mental Garden is a jar of positive affirmations to support and encourage elementary age students. These jars contain motivational quotes and affirmations that promote mental wellness and positivity. They will be housed in the office to read over the intercom during morning announcements and in the counselor’s office.
Fun Fact: KaMya attended CHES in elementary school. She still remembers the name of her kindergarten teacher. She chose Crystal Hill as the FIRST school to receive a Mental Garden because of its impact on her educational journey. ❤️
